The True Cost of Independence: Reflections on the 4th of July

Adam was the first place winner in the 2015 National Voice of Democracy Program and the recipient of a $30,000 T.C. Selman Memorial Scholarship Awarded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In his speech, Adam describes what he believes is the true cost of independence.

This holiday, when they play the national anthem prior to the fireworks display, my gratitude will be with my father who served this country for over 30 years and with our soldiers around the world.
